About Us

Redheart Appaloosas is a UK-based Stud nestled below the Malvern Hillis in Worcestershire, we specialise in the breeding, showing, and promotion of Pure Appaloosas.

We aim to quadruple register our stock with the Appaloosa Horse Club (ApHC), the Appaloosa Horse Club UK (ApHC UK) and the British Appaloosa Society (BApS). Redheart Pascalius, Talisman’s Redheart and Eagles Fire Illusion foals are enhanced with the Foundation bloodlines traced back to the original Nez Perce Indian horses and their registration supports the Foundation Horse Registry (FAHR)

We ensure our pedigrees are pure, at least five generations of Appaloosa blood and ALL are certified negative by parentage for PSSM1 – Polysaccharide Storage Myopathy, HERDA – Hereditary Equine Regional Dermal Asthenia, GBED – Glycogen Branching Enzyme Deficiency, HYPP – Equine Hyperkalemic Periodic Paralysis Disease, MH – Malignant Hyperthermia, Grey gene and Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC).

Within the ApHC, we concentrate on the Foundation Pedigree Designation (FPD) programme aiming for 100% (30 out of 30 Appaloosas in a five generation pedigree).  Where possible, we register eligible foals within the Generation Advancement Programme (GAP), that’s six generations! Within our breeding stock, all BApS foals are registered at Grade A with one combination breeding Stud Book foals.
